Street Food Festival with a twist

What’s the twist? This food festival cooking up yummy meals in the street will highlight traditional local produce. Maroni village will host the event on Sunday in a collaboration between its Community Council, the Athletic Association and the Maroni Association of Ladies.

Traditional and local tastes will fill the alleys of the village from 11am until 5pm. The event aims to introduce the visitor to the local culture, gastronomy and traditions as well as innovative creative recipes using local products.

“Walking through the picturesque beautiful streets of the village you will be able to buy food and local dishes prepared locally,” comment the festival organisers. “As you fill up, explore the village and discover the beautiful neighbourhoods, sit in the traditional cafe to enjoy your coffee and sweets.”

The man behind the dishes will be chef Christos Christodoulou and he will be crafting the recipes inspired by and using local products. Families and people from all walks of life are invited to join the Maroni Traditional Street Food Festival on Sunday. The event is free to attend, paying only for anything you buy or consume.
