Coronavirus: Police fine 139 individuals and one business owner

Police fined 139 individuals and the owner of one establishment for violations of Covid-19 measures after 11,203 checks carried out across the island between Friday and Saturday morning.

The owner of the establishment in Paphos was fined because he was not wearing a face mask while a customer was present as well. The customer was handed a fine for being outside after the curfew at 2100 and the owner was given a fine of €500.

In Nicosia police conducted 3,449 checks and 30 individuals were reported and in Limassol 2,137 checks took place with 45 people fined.

In Larnaca 1,444 checks were carried out 19 people fined, in Paphos police fined 14 people and one business owner out of a total of 1,190 checks. In Famagusta 1,697 checks were carried out with 20 people fined, and in Morphou police carried out 946 checks and reported two individuals.
Traffic police made 314 checks and issued nine fines.
