Oslo: Norway’s green and cultured capital of reinvention

In this video, we’re taking a pre-Covid trip to Oslo, Norway’s vibrant, self-confident capital that charms visitors with its relaxed and easy-going air.

Located between the rippling waters of the Oslofjord and the green, forested hills of Norway’s interior, the city has been transforming itself since the Fifties, forging ahead to become an enterprising and cosmopolitan commercial hub.

Nature-lovers will be well-served here, as, even though Oslo’s skyline features cranes, it is also one of the world’s most overwhelmingly green cities. In fact, it was named European Green Capital for 2019, thanks to having one of the lowest carbon footprints in the world, as well as an excellent and well-patronised public transport, and a demonstrated commitment to sustainable food production and green spaces.

Enjoy Oslo’s many serene parks, with the additional benefit of knowing that Oslofjord’s waterways and islands are only minutes away from the centre, as are the ski slopes and forests of Nordmarka.
