TGIF: Tarta de Santiago makes for delectable weekend bake

Good Lifers, you know we like to give you a fun weekend recipe every Friday, to celebrate a hard-earned window of leisure and pleasure.

Today, it’s fragrant, nutty, Tarta de Santiago.

Originating from Galicia in northwestern Spain during the time of medieval pilgrimages, Tarta de Santiago is traditionally decorated with the St. James cross, and makes a perfect dessert or accompaniment to a café con leche, Spain’s famously milky coffee (it’s fine with straight-up filter coffee, too).
