Limassol district court remanded a 25-year-old man for eight days on Tuesday in connection with the beating of a 30-year-old man with an iron bar over the weekend in Limassol.

According to the police, the 30-year-old and his wife were driving in Limassol at around 11pm on Saturday when a car blocked their route, forcing them to stop.

Three people jumped out of the car, dragged the man out of his car, beat him with an iron bar and then fled the scene.

The 30-year-old suffered head injury, including fractures to the frontal bone, and internal bleeding. He was initially rushed to Limassol general hospital, but due to the seriousness of his condition was later taken to Nicosia general hospital for treatment.

The suspect was arrested on Monday.
