See Cyprus in new light at outdoor photography exhibition in Klirou

A new collaboration between BPRarts Cultural Management, Klirou community and the Cultural Services of the ministry of education presents an outdoor photography exhibition titled In the Footsteps of Memory this summer. Open until August 31, architect Yiorgos Pantazis invites the public to venture to Klirou and explore his photography.

The open-air photo exhibition offers a different look at the architectural heritage of Cyprus. From Karpasia to Famagusta and from Nicosia to Paphos via Kourion and Amathus, the monumental heritage of Cyprus is recorded through a unique and original angle via Pantazis’ lens. The photographic display is accompanied by texts by historian Anna Marangou that are an invitation to rejuvenate memory.

The exhibition and its parallel activities are part of a larger ministry programme held for the 6th consecutive year, which aims to promote and implement quality cultural activities in communities across Cyprus. Titled Cultural Decentralisation, the programme presents 13 productions, events and activities in 40 communities around Cyprus that will last until November.

Having launched this July, the events include theatre performances, concerts, workshops, exhibitions and lectures with Cyprus as their focal point. More events will continue in September, encouraging people to venture out to Cyprus villages, explore local communities and experience culture and art in rural locations.
