A singles night at Stroumpi

If dating wasn’t hard enough already, the pandemic has made it even trickier. Social distancing, numerous lockdowns and strict measures aren’t the sexiest way of flirtation and just like everything else this year, the majority of the dating world has moved online since last year. But what if you don’t want to find love via the internet? If going up to someone at a bar seemed intimidating before, there’s a pandemic to add on top of that now. Fantastic, right?

Yet it’s not all doom and gloom. One upcoming event in Stroumpi, Paphos aims to bring single people together and hopefully spark connections. Gatherings for singles have been going on for decades yet this won’t be a speed dating style event where people have just a few minutes to talk to each other. Through games and conversation, The Well-Being Centre – Personal & Spiritual Development wants to create a safe space for people to meet, whether for love, attraction or friendship.

This August 21, singletons will meet at Stroumpi at 7pm for a fun, chilled evening with drinks, snacks and ice-breaking games. The event is open for all singles, no matter age and the more the merrier says The Well-Being Centre. Book in advance paying the €15 entrance fee, check out the Facebook event (Singles Night!) and tell your friends.

“You are welcome to bring your swimming gear if you’d like to take a dip,” writes the event description. “You might even meet the love of your life! Or, you could meet great new friends and enjoy a fabulous evening. It’s a win-win kind of night.”
