An eight-year-old girl with Covid-19 died in the north on Wednesday.

‘Prime minister’ Faiz Sucuoglu, in a post on social media confirmed reports of the girl’s death.

“Unfortunately, an eight-year-old child died today due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said, without clarifying what the exact cause of death was.

The girl was admitted to hospital on Tuesday with abdominal pain. She tested positive for Covid-19 and was transferred to another hospital where she was intubated. Despite all efforts, she was unable to survive, Sucuoglu said.

This incident, he said, has caused great sadness in the north, adding that he shares the pain of the girl’s family.
