Leading wineries from Greece’s Peloponnese peninsula are back in Cyprus this April with their celebrated wines and latest vintages. The 4th Peloponnese Wine Festival at Limassol’s Carob Mill Restaurant welcomes wine professionals and oenophiles to taste some of the very best of Greek wines.

Returning after a two-year break, this year the festival has invited some 26 wineries from the Peloponnese to travel to Cyprus. Attending industry professionals and wine lovers will have the opportunity to taste more than 200 different wines and meet the people behind them during the event. Open to the public in two different time slots to avoid crowding, visitors can attend from 11am to 3pm or from 4.30pm to 8.30pm, with a €10 entry ticket.

Once there, visitors will meet important winemakers that champion their terroirs, their grape varieties and the diversity of wine styles that Peloponnese vineyards offer. “Be prepared for a walk through the vineyards of Nemea, Mantinia and Patra,” say the organisers, “or the exciting and upcoming regions of Monemvasia, Messinia and Ilia, among others.”

In addition, guests will be able to keep their tasting notes online via the my.wine.gr platform. Participating wineries and their wines will be available online and thus all participants will be able to keep notes, track their favourites and score all the wines that they taste. Tickets are already available through www.viva.gr for a one-day event celebrating aromatic and impressive wine varieties.
