Remedica, the Cypriot pharmaceutical company, has sent 500,000 euros worth of medical aid for the immediate relief of the wounded in Ukraine, showing its humane side once again.

It is with a feeling of responsibility that Remedica is actively participating in the collective bid to respond to the great humanitarian crisis arising from the war, and contribute to rising civilian need.

“The war has created an unprecedented humanitarian crisis in the heart of Europe and Remedica is doing its part by supporting our fellow human beings, who are currently being tested,” said Remedica CEO Dr. Michalis Neoptolemou. “Our company mobilised and acted, sending more than half a million euros in medical aid, to meet the urgent needs of hospitals; we pray and hope for a ceasefire.”

This is the second package of humanitarian aid, consisting of a range of necessities, sent by Cyprus. The response of the island’s pharmaceutical industry was immediate and in coordination with the competent bodies. The aid package departed by ferry from the port of Limassol to the port of Thessaloniki, and, from there, was transported over land to Romania, for delivery to the Ukrainian authorities.

The whole operation is being carried out under the coordination of the Citizen’s Commissioner, with the participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Civil Defence, the National Guard and the Ports Authority. The Civil Defence is in constant contact with the European Civil Protection Mechanism, which will cover transport costs.

Remedica is a leading premedica pharma aid ukraineharmaceutical industry, based in Cyprus, and present in 160 countries. Founded in 1980, it specialises today in the development, production and marketing of high quality, safe and efficacious pharmaceutical products for human use. Its present portfolio consists of over 350 pharmaceutical products.
