Police in Limassol arrested two 15-year-olds last night in connection with the violent mugging of a 78-year-old man.

According to a report made to police by the 78-year-old, on the evening of the 8th April, 2022, two masked men approached him asking for money as he was walking home.

The 78-year-old alleged that he was attacked by the two masked men after telling them that he didn’t have any money in his possession to give them. The masked duo reportedly then proceeded to rob the man’s house keys and a small sum of money that he had on his person.

The 78-year-old was treated for facial injuries and bruising to his eye at Limassol General Hospital, before being discharged.

Meanwhile, the two 15-year-olds were arrested on Saturday evening under a court order and were taken into custody to help police with their line of investigation.

Police are continuing with their investigation.
