Famagusta Avenue Garage hosts music and arts festival

poster

Famagusta Avenue Garage in Dherynia is a gathering point for creative youth with a bicommunal aspect as organisations, groups and individuals from either side of the divide meet to co-organise actions. Their projects and events aim to promote the culture of co-existence, the sharing of experiences, thoughts and ideas. There, people from all walks of life meet to connect, discuss and sometimes, party. An event coming up soon invites the public to a one-day music and arts festival.

The Common Culture – Common Future festival on September 2 will be a lively affair, kicking off at 7pm. As the sun sets, a yoga session will take place on the terrace of Famagusta Avenue Garage that invites yogis of all levels to stretch, bend and downward dog. In the outside space, local producers and young artists will set up stalls displaying their products and artistic creations.

Of course, it’s no festival without some live music and so from 9pm until around midnight a series of local musicians and artists will take the floor. The evening’s performers include Julio from Anemourio and Cemre Arca among others yet to be announced. Finally, the last touch to Famagusta Avenue Garage’s festival is an array of traditional food options that will be available throughout the night as well as refreshing drinks to cool down.
