Seventy-eight-year old arrested for cannabis possession

Police arrested a 78-year-old man on Tuesday for illegal possession of drugs with the intention of supplying them to others. 

According to official statement, the Larnaca branch of the police drug force (Ykan), carried out a search on Tuesday afternoon at the residence of the man in Dromolaxia, where they found two plastic bags containing one and a half kilos of dry cannabis, as well as a smaller quantity of cannabis weighing100 grams.

In the yard of the house, Ykan members found two cannabis plants, 80 and 150cm high, planted in pots.

Police proceeded to arrest the man for illegal possession of drugs with intent to supply. The 78-year-old was taken into custody for the purposes of ongoing investigation.
