Over one thousand traffic fines issued in Paphos in April

Paphos police issued 1,329 fines in the month of April as part of a coordinated operation to prevent road collisions, most of them involving speeding.

According to police spokesman Michalis Nikolaou, out of the 1,329 complaints, 90 related to driving under the influence of alcohol, 471 to driving at excessive speed and 17 to driving under the influence of drugs.

The remaining fines concern minor traffic violations.

Nikolaou noted that coordinated traffic operations are ongoing with the aim of reducing road accidents.
