The District Court of Paphos on Thursday suspended the operation of a cabaret following a police request.

Police are investigating the operation of the venue in question without the required licensing.

According to a police statement, on Monday the 47-year-old owner was reported for operating without a licence, without permits to sell alcohol or broadcast music, as well as for allowing patrons to smoke indoors.

At the request of the police, a court order was issued to close the premises until the trial of the case which is set for May 30.
