Paphos police arrest suspect in hotel theft case

The Paphos district court issued a two-day detention order against a 29-year-old woman, for allegedly breaking into a hotel room and stealing electronics.

According to police spokesman Michalis Nicolaou, on June 5, a French tourist reported that between midnight and 9am electronic items, valued at €4,400, were stolen from his hotel room. CCTV footage revealed two persons as the suspected perpetrators, who appear to have entered through the balcony door, which was closed but not locked.

On Friday, the stolen iPhone was found to be receiving a signal from a Paphos location, which was traced as the address of the 29-year-old woman’s home.

The stolen iPhone was located and seized as evidence while investigations continue to locate the other stolen items.
