The final meeting concerning the completion of the initial phase of the project for the transformation of the Latsi port warehouses into a Sea Museum took place on Tuesday at the Polis Chrysochous Municipality.

The cost of the initial phase will amount to €335,000. The initiative was co-funded by the EU programme “Sea and Fisheries 2014-2020” through the Paphos Development Company (Anetpa).

According to a statement released by the Polis Chrysochous municipality, “the Sea Museum will employ cutting-edge technology.”

The town’s mayor, Yiotis Papachristofi, highlighted the historical significance of the old port warehouses, explaining that they hold substantial historical value and serve as a vital space for the municipality, especially within the tourist area of Latsi.

“The project aims to significantly enhance and enrich our tourism offering,” Papachristofi said.

“It is anticipated to attract both local and international visitors, contributing to the overall improvement and promotion of our tourism sector.”
