A police operation on Thursday nabbed 13 persons illegally residing in Cyprus, while authorities were making arrangements for the arrestees’ deportation.

In a statement, the police said their operation took place in an area of Nicosia between 6.30am and 8am. Taking part were officers of the immigration office and members of the department monitoring the Green Line.

Police found and arrested 13 foreign nationals staying in Cyprus without a permit.

“Meanwhile procedures have been activated for their immediate repatriation,” the statement added.
