Department for Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities Allowance

In an official announcement by the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare, the Department for Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities informed recipients of the monthly Blind and the Severe Mobility Disability Allowance Scheme about an upcoming adjustment in their allowances. Starting from January 2024, these adjustments are in response to the increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and are by existing legislation.

Specifically, the Special Allowance for the Blind will be increased from €361.65 to €374.89 per month, while the Severe Motor Disability Allowance Scheme will rise from €386.00 to €400.13. These adjustments aim to align the allowances with the current economic conditions and rising costs.

Recipients are informed that the increased allowances will be automatically added to their January payments. No additional action is required on their part, ensuring a straightforward and efficient process.
