Wanted woman drives head-on into police and escapes

Police in Larnaca on Tuesday fired shots at a car driven by a 35-year-old woman wanted with a number of outstanding arrest warrant for several cases under investigation.

According to the police, the woman was located around 2am in an open space in Livadia where officers  attempted to apprehend her. The woman, however, allegedly drove head-on into the police vehicle whereupon the police fired shots at her tyres in an effort to immobilise her, however she managed to escape.

According to police spokesman Spiros Chrysostomou, the woman drove off at breakneck speed and had not been located by 9am.

Oroklini police are investigating the case.
