New exhibitions are set to grace Cyprus’ galleries and cultural venues this spring, bringing a diverse range of art to the forefront. Classical pieces, conceptual themes and contemporary approaches will shine as local artists showcase their work in exhibitions opening soon in Limassol, Nicosia and Paphos.

Limassol’s art scene will welcome Andy Bargilly’s exhibition at Morfi Gallery titled Fluidic Inkscapes. An official opening event will be held on Wednesday at 7pm with an introduction by Dr Nadia Anaxagorou. Running for just ten days, the exhibition features ink drawings.

Over in Nicosia, Thkio Ppalies will also host an exhibition this week. Titled Itan Oraia, the showcase presents the works of Elena Savvidou which merges sculpture, sound, light and movement. Through blending these art forms, the exhibition is “an archaeology of the future through a multisensory or synesthetic environment that is dreamy but desolate, dead yet somehow still breathing; an impression of digital experience and a portal to a world without time,” organisers say.

Korai space in old Nicosia will host the We Find Each Other Sooner and None Has to Leave First: Decolonization of Care & Formations of Tenderness exhibition this March and April, with three participating artists. Running from March 23 to April 22, artists Raissa Angeli, Georgia Christou and Marietta Mavrokordatou will present their creations as curated by Evagoria Dapola.

Paphos too will have a new exhibition as artist Marlen Karletidou presents her painting exhibition at Blue Iris Art Gallery. The exhibition In Quest of Light, Beauty and Purity will run from April 6 to 26 showcasing a new series of 20 paintings created between 2020 and 2024.
