Man fined €2,000 for hunting without a permit

Police officers in Paphos on Thursday imposed an extrajudicial €2,000 fine on a 24-year-old for hunting without a permit.

According to a police statement, the man was found hunting with an unlicensed shotgun on Wednesday in the village of Kato Arodes, in the Paphos district.

Further investigations also revealed that the hunter did not have a regular hunting permit.

He was taken to the police station in Peyia, where his shotgun and 43 cartridges were confiscated.
