Three Syrian men arrive in Ayia Napa in small boat

Three Syrian men arrived in Cyprus in a small boat that came ashore on a beach in Ayia Napa, police said on Saturday.

According to police, a citizen notified the Famagusta district HQ at around 10.20pm Friday that he had seen a small boat with three passengers come ashore at a beach behind a hotel in the popular holiday resort.

Officers went to the scene where they found three Syrian men. The men were tested for the coronavirus before being transferred to a reception centre in Kokkinotrimithia.
