A 39-year-old woman was caught driving under the influence of alcohol on Saturday night in Nicosia past curfew while she was also tested positive for a narcotest, police said on Sunday.

The woman, while driving at around 9 pm in an area in Nicosia, under circumstances that are being investigated, lost control of the vehicle she was driving and crashed into a traffic signpost.

She was found to be over three times the alcohol limit while the narcotest she was given came out positive. The road tax for the car she was driving had been expired since December 2019.
