How to brush your cat’s teeth safely and effectively

Every pet deserves a loving and respectful home: please only consider acquiring a pet if you will be able to take care of its long-term needs. Also, consider choosing your animal companion from a shelter, where there are so many wonderful furry friends who need a forever home.

In this video, veterinarian Dr. Clayton Greenway discusses the safe and effective process of brushing a pet cat’s teeth, without distressing or raising resistance in the feline. It is recommended to brush a pet’s teeth once a day.

NEVER use human toothpaste on your pet’s teeth as the fluoride is toxic to cats and dogs. Instead, select an enzymatic toothpaste with a VOHC (Veterinary Oral Health Council) seal, as these products have been rigorously tested and proven effective.
