Coronavirus: 13,240 checks, 158 booked

From Thursday until Friday morning, police booked 158 persons, including two business owners, for breaching coronavirus protocols.

During 24 hours leading up to 6am 13,240 checks were carried out, 3,382 in Nicosia, 2,475 in Limassol, 2,295 in Larnaca, 1,193 in Paphos, 1,844 in Famagusta and 1,203 in Morphou.

68 individuals were fined in Limassol, 12 in Nicosia, 19 in Larnaca, 32 in Famagusta, 21 in Paphos and one in Morphou.

Traffic police checked 848 persons travelling on the roads and booked three of them for offences.

Marine police did not report any violations as the result of 80 inspections.
