Eight irregular migrants from Syria in a small boat were spotted off Cape Greco on Wednesday afternoon by the marine police.
According to police, the boat was spotted at about 6.20 and a police patrol boat was immediately dispatched to the area which escorted it back to a fishing shelter at Cape Greco.
Eight men were found in the boat who were taken to the migrant centre in Kokkinotrimithia.
