Coronavirus: police book 147 for Covid violations

Cyprus police booked 147 people and one establishment owner, during the last 24 hours for violating Covid  measures.

A police spokesperson told CNA that a total of 9,492 checks were carried out from Friday 6am until Saturday 6am.

In Nicosia police conducted 1,721 checks and booked 39 people, while in Limassol they carried out 2,500 checks and booked 57.

In Larnaca, police carried out 1,611 checks and handed out fines to 13 people, and in Paphos 850 checks, saw 18 people and one establishment owner booked.

In Famagusta police conducted 1,251 checks and booked 12 people, while in Morphou 740 checks were conducted without  any violations.

Most violations concerned movement without sending an SMS and not using a mask.
