Coronavirus: arrest of man who escaped from covid rehabilitation facility

A 38-year-old man with coronavirus who escaped from a rehabilitation centre in Larnaca last week while under police detention, was arrested on Saturday, police said Sunday.

The man was treated for Covid-19 at the Eden rehabilitation centre in Tersefanou but escaped from there on April 7. He had been under police detention for burglary cases. Eden facility has been designated to host coronavirus patients.

According to the police, he was located on Saturday and was arrested for escape from legal arrest, breaking coronavirus protocols and negligence as regards the spread of life-threatening diseases.
