Paphos district court on Saturday remanded a 32-year-old man for five days for attacking another man with a knife late on Friday.

The incident was reported to the police by the 40-year-old victim, who said he met the suspect for the first time while he was at a friend’s house at 5.30pm on Friday.

The two were arguing when at one point the 32-year-old pulled out a pocketknife and injured the older man near his left eye.

The 40-year-old went to Paphos general hospital where doctors said he suffered a bruise on his left eyebrow and sutured his wound. He was then discharged.

Officers went to the scene to investigate. They found and arrested the suspect in his house.
