Pianist Tatiana Stupak is joined by friends for three shows at Rialto

Russian pianist Tatiana Stupak has been holding charity concerts in Limassol to celebrate her birthday in June since 2016. This year, because of Covid restrictions on audience numbers, she will hold concerts on three successive evenings, for an audience limit of 284 people each evening at the Rialto Theatre, on Wednesday 9, Thursday 10 and Friday 11 of June. Each evening will welcome new guest musicians under a different musical theme.

Starting the three-day concert series on June 9, Tatiana will accompany the mezzo-soprano singer Anastasia Maximova, in a programme of well-known music, including some operatic arias. Maximova is an opera singer though she is also well known as a songwriter, including pop songs and as a film composer. The singer is also a founder and art director of the first Russian interactive opera theatre Midnight Opera, where the soloists involve the audience to take part in the opera performance. She has performed in concerts all over Russia and in European countries from Italy, France and England to Greece, Estonia, and of course, Cyprus.

The following evening will be dedicated to string instruments with Tatiana and violinist Olivera Rialas and Italian cellist Fabio Cavaggion. Both musicians have had lengthy careers performing abroad, from New York Halls to Rome’s theatre and have now relocated to Cyprus.

The final concert of the series will feature emerging musicians as the students of the Tatiana Stupak School of Music will take the Rialto Theatre stage for an evening of music on various instruments. Continuing the theme of Tatiana’s annual birthday charity concerts, the net proceeds of these three evenings will be given to the Holy Temple of the Archangel Michael & the Chapel of St Matrona Monovolikos, Limassol.
