Coronavirus: 960 cases on Saturday (Updated)

The health ministry on Saturday announced 960 people tested positive from 69,310 PCR and rapid tests, a positivity rate of 1.39 per cent.

No deaths were announced.

There are 125 patients with COVID-19 in hospital, 32 of whom in serious condition, 13 intubated.

The new cases concern 105 detected during contact tracing, 263 among people who got tested privately, 13 among samples processed in state hospitals’ labs, and one person who was referred for testing by their physician.

Six cases were among passengers at the Larnaca and Paphos airports.

Another 572 cases were detected among the rapid tests carried out in all districts by the health ministry.

In the Nicosia district, 158 cases were detected with a positivity rate of 0.72 per cent, 183 in Limassol (1.34 per cent), 70 in Larnaca (0.76 per cent), 70 in Paphos (0.97 per cent) and 91 in the Famagusta district (1.26 per cent).

So far 83,423 cases and 380 deaths were recorded.
