Police seeking abduction suspect in Paphos

Paphos police HQ

Paphos police were seeking a 26-year-old man on Tuesday on suspicion of abducting a domestic worker earlier this month.

The incident was reported to police on August 12 by the 42-year-old female domestic worker, who said she was walking outside when a car with four men and without licence plates approached her.

She told police she was forced into the vehicle and taken to an unknown location where the suspects threatened her with a knife and stole her mobile phone and some €20 in cash.

One of them hit her before she was dumped somewhere near a road.

She told police she asked a passer-by for help.

She was examined by a doctor who said the woman suffered various minor injuries including bruises to her right eye and arm.

The woman told police the men spoke an Indian dialect.

Paphos CID is investigating the case
