Good Samaritan finds, returns €3060

Cash

A 29-year-old man who found more than €3,000 in cash scattered on the road and handed it over to the police is an example for everyone, police said on Tuesday.

In a statement commending the individual’s action, police said they had tracked down the owner of the money – a 25-year-old man – who said it was his monthly salary.

The cash, amounting to €3,060 in various bills, was found around 1am on Tuesday on the road outside a Paralimni business.

Police congratulated the man and said they will “honour him for his commendable act”.

Such actions should “set an example for all citizens to follow,” police added.
