Boy loses leg in motorcycle accident

A 12-year-old boy lost one of his legs on Saturday after the motorcycle on which he was a passenger collided with a car in the Famagusta district.

The accident occurred at around 11 am, police said, when a car collided with the motorcycle driven by a 16-year-old with the 12-year-old as passenger, on the Avgorou to Liopetri road. The younger boy lost his leg in the accident, police said, and was rushed to Nicosia general hospital. The 16-year-old was also injured but not seriously.
