Coronavirus: Bakery fined €1,500 for SafePass violations

Nicosia police fined a bakery €1,500 for failing to check its customers for a SafePass after 1,128 checks in the capital.

During the checks, four people were also booked for violating measures, police said on Friday.

The checks were part of 2,749 nationwide inspections carried out between 6am on Thursday and 6am on Friday.

A total of 31 individuals were found violating the Covid protocols, including six in Limassol after 194 checks, five in Larnaca after 455 checks, three in Paphos after 151 checks and 13 in Famagusta after 456 inspections.

No violations were reported in Morphou following 96 checks.

Traffic, marine and port police also conducted 156 and 113 checks respectively without any bookings.
