Police on Friday said they have arrested a second suspect in connection with a jewellery theft in the Nicosia district earlier this week, while two more suspects are being sought.

The case was reported to the police on October 11 by the owner of the jewellery shop.

According to his statement, two unknown people, a man and a woman, visited his store in the afternoon, asking to see various jewels but left without purchasing anything.

After their departure, the owner realised that two bracelets were missing.

During police investigations, evidence emerged against a 33-year-old man who was remanded for six days on Tuesday in relation to the case.

The new arrest concerned a 50-year-old man.

Police said they are looking for two more suspects.
