The Nicosia to Limassol motorway closed to traffic near Moutayiaka for more than three hours on Tuesday afternoon, due to a 10-car pileup but has now reopened.

The accident occurred at around 4.30pm when 10 vehicles were involved in a pile up. Traffic to Limassol was diverted onto the hard shoulder. Police closed that section until 8pm to remove all vehicles involved in the accident.

Though both lanes have now opened, there was still heavy traffic toward Limassol, police said.

Three people were transferred by ambulance to Limassol general hospital as a precaution. Police officers remained on site to regulate traffic and assist the public.
