Remand for hotel theft

Paphos district court on Sunday remanded an 18-year-old man for five days, for his suspected involvement in stealing from a hotel.

According to police, the hotel manager reported to police on October 21 that the establishment, which is currently being renovated was broken into.

Staff members said they saw a man holding a tablet and €800 laptop in the premises, who ran away as soon as he realized he had been seen.

Paphos CID arrived to the scene and noted that the perpetrator entered the hotel by smashing a glass door. A witness statement appeared to link the 18-year-old to the scene, who was subsequently arrested and remanded.

Investigations continue.
