International business negotiation skills, strategies, and effective communication in large organisations are the focus of a seminar currently underway in Paphos.

Organised by the Moscow School of Management Skolkovo, in collaboration with Reichman University (IDC Herzliya) and the Paphos Innovation Institute, the three-day conference – attended by over 20 students and professors from the top-ranking Russian graduate business school – will outline the growing importance of successful business negotiations, and the challenges to management and analysis of large innovative organisations.

Speaking at the seminar, Paphos mayor Phedonas Phedonos referred to the close relations between Russia and Cyprus that have traditionally been marked by a mutual understanding and warm friendship.

“The Russian community living and working in Cyprus acts as a link between Cyprus and Russia,” he said. “Russians have contributed to Cyprus’ economy and cultural wealth, which is indeed invaluable.”

According to Phedonos, knowledge has neither cultural nor geographic boundaries. “Supporting innovation in education will positively impact the future of humanity,” he added.

The mayor also pointed out that the Paphos Innovation Institute seeks to encourage the intellectual and entrepreneurial cooperation among students and teachers across the Eastern Mediterranean, “with the aim of generating solutions to significant challenges impacting our lives.”
