The met service issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms on Tuesday, saying that outdoor activities might be disrupted.

The warning concerns isolated thunderstorms and is in force until 5pm, the announcement said.

According to the met service, rain rates are expected to range between 35 and 50 millimeters per hour, while hail is also likely.

The public was called on to “take extra care in exposed areas, like mountains, forest and open terrain” as “disruption to outdoor activities is possible”, the announcement added.
