Roads leading to mountains peaks remain closed

Roads leading to the highest peaks of the mountains remained closed on Thursday, police said after some drivers attempted to take routes closed to traffic.

According to police, “a particular problem has been recorded on the Palechori-Agros road, which is closed”.

Police also called drivers to be informed about the situation on the roads before setting out.

All roads leading to Troodos are closed, as well as Papoutsa – Ayios Theodoros, Pedoulas – Prodromos, Pedoulas – Pine wood – Kakopetria, Prodromos – Platres, Kakopetria – Karvounas, Kakopetria – Spilia – Kannavia, Palaichori – Agros, Farmakas – Odou and Odou-Oras.

Meanwhile, the following roads are open only for four-wheel drive cars and vehicles with snow chains:

In Limassol, Amiandos – Karvounas, Saittas – Moniatis, Trimiklini – Pelendri, Papoutsas – Agrou, Agros – Kyperounta, Agros – Ayios Ioannis, Agros -Kalo Chorio, Agrosu – Potamitissa – Dimes, Kalo Chorio- Zoopigi, Kalo Chorio – Ayios Ioannis, Kalo Chorio – Ayios Pavlos, Kalo Chorio – Ayios Constantinos, Kalo Chorio – Louvaras, Pachna – Omodos, Malias – Arsous, Malias – Doras, Arsos – Ayios Nikolaos.

In Morphou the roads are Pedoulas- Kykkos- Kambos and Kalopanayiotis-Moutoulla – Pedoulas.

In the Nicosia district, those concern Lagoudera-Xyliatos, Lagoudera-Polystypos, Polystypos -Chandria and in Paphos Statos to Panayia and Asproyia to Panayia.
