Education minister has plans for Ukrainian refugees to study in Cyprus

Υπουργός Παιδείας – Συνέντευξη Τύ
Education Minister Prodromos Prodromou

Education Minister Prodromos Prodromou said on Saturday he is working on a proposal for special measures to enable Ukrainian refugees in Cyprus to continue their studies in schools and universities.

He told the Cyprus News Agency that he will ask the cabinet for permission to collaborate with the foreign ministry on ways “to support students and pupils while making the most of European funding”.

The proposal will refer to both private and public institutions, he added.

Prodromou pointed out that Cyprus “has already welcomed, and is ready to welcome, Ukrainian refugees, while there has been an interest in allowing Ukrainians living in Cyprus to host their family members fleeing their country”.
