As another long weekend arrives, the musicians of the island gather for more entertaining evenings of live music. Limassol’s quaint little bar Vinylio Wine Etc has more musical nights planned this week to welcome the new month. Taking the floor on Thursday night are three musicians who will combine violin, cello and piano for a musical gathering called Romantic Encounters.

The Ensemble Triptych was enthusiastically created by three of the most dedicated and outstanding musicians from Cyprus and Serbia. Pianist Tatiana Stupak, creative violinist Olivera Rialas and the sensational cellist Dusan Stojanovich are all acclaimed artists in their own countries and abroad.

On March 31, they will be playing at Vinylio bringing their fusion programme Romantic Encounters from Baroque to 21st Century. The one-hour concert will include music by Piazzolla, Elgar, Shostakovich, Chaplin, Villa-Lobos, Vivaldi and Albinoni.

Come April 1 and another trio will perform at Vinylio. The Steppin’ Out Trio, with Alice Ayvazian, Marios Papares and Dimitris Miaris will be all about jazz this Friday and specifically, that of Billie Holiday. Their performance will be a tribute show solely dedicated to the classic Jazz songs made famous by the influential American jazz singer and songwriter.
