Coronavirus: 14 fined for violations of Covid decrees

Two establishments and 12 people were fined after a total of 2,196 checks for violations of coronavirus measures in the 24 hours up to 6am on Monday.

The bulk of individual fines were issued for not wearing a mask, while the two fines to establishments were for workers without a SafePass.

In Nicosia, two establishments and seven individuals were fined following 705 inspections. A restaurant was fined €750 and a kiosk €500, both for an employee found working without SafePass.

In Limassol, two individuals were fined following 150 inspections. In Larnaca, 435 inspections were carried out and three individuals were fined.

There were no fines issued in Famagusta, Paphos, or Morphou, after 509, 41 and 155 checks, respectively.
