Police were called on Sunday afternoon after a nine-year-old boy was rushed to the A&E department of the Nicosia General hospital, after being bitten by a dog.

According to the attending physician the child suffered serious injuries to the lower jaw, temple and skull. After undergoing surgery, the boy was transported to Makarios Hospital, where he stayed for ongoing treatment.
