Cypriot authorities put Sunday’s tremor at 2.6, epicentre east of Limassol

A small tremor measuring 2.6 on the Richter scale was felt in some parts of the island on Sunday, the geological surveys department said.

It was mainly felt in the city of Limassol.

Four small aftershocks followed until 3pm, one that measured Richter 1.9, the department said.

The main tremor hit at 1.25pm and was mainly felt in Limassol, where the epicentre was located in the sea some 4km east of the city at a depth of 13km.

According to Limassol police, no damage was reported.
