Weather forecast: Isolated showers expected in coming days

The met office on Saturday said isolated showers in the mountains are likely, as high temperatures persist on the island during the third week of August.

The weather will be mainly clear until midday when clouds are expected to form with the possibility of isolated showers, mainly in the mountains.

The temperature will rise to around 39C inland, 32C on the west and southwest coasts, around 35C on the north coast, around 33C on the remaining coastal areas and 29C in the higher mountains.

At night, the weather will be partly cloudy with sparse fog in the morning hours.

The temperature will drop to around 21C inland, 23C around the coasts and around 19C in the higher mountains.

Isolated rain is also expected on Sunday up to Tuesday when temperatures at night are forecast to drop gradually close to or slightly below average for the season. Fog is also expected during the coming nights.

According to the meteorological department, on Sunday, increasing clouds will produce isolated rain with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains and inland.
