Man sentenced for people trafficking

A 24-year-old man has been sentenced to three years in prison for human trafficking, police said on Wednesday.

Appearing before the Larnaca Criminal Court, the man was found guilty of aiding third-country nationals enter and reside in Cyprus.

The man was arrested in April 2022, when police stopped his car. In the car along with the 24-year-old were two other men, 26 and 25, who when questioned said that they entered the state-controlled areas from the north.
