Suspect in attempted murder case turns himself in (Update 2)

The 31-year-old suspect in an attempted murder case has surrendered himself to the police some hours after an arrest warrant was issued against him on Wednesday.

The man turned himself in to the central Larnaca police station on Wednesday night and was arrested. Police had earlier published two photos and the personal details of the suspect on their official website under wanted persons.

He was wanted in connection with an attempted murder case that took place in Oroklini ar around 5.30am on Sunday.

According to police, gunshots were fired at a moving car with two men aged 39 and 42 and a six-year-old child. The older passenger as well as the child were injured and were transferred to the hospital. They are out of danger.

A firearm, gloves and a hood were found close to the scene which were expected to be examined for DNA traces.
